A meeting of two scientists, Massimo Introvigne and Oleg Maltsev, took place in the Center for Studies on New Religions (Turin) in June 2016. One of the main goals was the discussion of such questions: what doesn’t suit people in the traditional religions? Why do they invent and look for something new?
Oleg Maltsev: “The change of Gods is a change of power. The new government comes and changes the Gods, and turns the old Gods into demons”.
Massimo Introvigne: “Some people do feel betrayed by their religion, and that’s the reason they are looking for something new. They want to live in a different way”.
